Inaugural concert live on ČT art and ČRo Vltava
Tonight, in the magnificent Smetana Hall of the Municipal House, for the first time with Prague Symphony Orchestra, Tomáš will take up the baton as chief conductor and open the orchestra’s 91st season. The program of the eagerly awaited inaugural concert is emblematic: the charming ballet suite Salt Above Gold by Jan Hanuš, whose legacy Tomáš will systematically preserve, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 “Titan”.
The grand opening of the new orchestral season will be broadcast live on ČT art on ČRo Vltava.
“When I look back on the past, the Prague Symphony Orchestra stood patiently by my side during my early days as a conductor, both in concerts and recordings. That makes me look forward to our new, intense, and creative relationship all the more. It will be a new phase not only for me and the Prague Symphony Orchestra, but also a great opportunity for discovery for our loyal listeners,” says Tomáš, looking forward to his new artistic phase. We share his excitement and wish him a happy start tonight!
